MAKER-SELLER SALES OPPORTUNITIES
If you are new to the idea of self employment as a
Maker-Seller Artisan you'll probably be surprised at the
amount of opportunity that exists for selling especially if
the design quality is such that the items can be considered
Functional Art or Wearable Art.
FESTIVALS AND CRAFT FAIRS.

Farmers Markets,and Internet Sales Opportunities.
Many Maker-Seller Artisans prefer the energy of a circuit
of Festivals or Craft Fairs over the usually steadier pace of
a Farmers Market. The large crowds at a well attended festival
enable the selling time to be condensed, leaving more time for
production. Of course an Artisan has to be much more organized
to produce, package and transport sufficient inventory,
sometimes over considerable distance. Larger, more elaborate,
booths are generally needed and expected by the organizers.
Huge festivals that draw crowds from a wide area can be
lucrative for Maker-Seller Artisans especially if their
products have a clear association with the theme of the
Festival. At the other end of the scale, many locally
orientated groups and associations organize smaller scale
craft fairs as fundraisers in schools and community centers.
These events can't be expected to provide the same level of
sales as a Festival but also do not impose the same level of
strain on artisans or the environment and can be excellent as
a means of advertising and establishing a reputation locally.
